The origin of coffee

Coffee has an interesting history that has its roots in remote themes. "Black and hot water" has began to spread in the West from the Middle East since the Middle Ages.

Many people can't imagine starting their day without a cup of coffee in the morning. Some prefer the homemade mocha while others the coffee bar. There are also those who can't live without it and has a beautiful story about coffee to tell.

We met Nicola and we went to visit him at Gioiosa Marea at Columbia Coffee Roasting. His father Tindaro founded it in 1980 and from that moment an intense smell of roasted coffee has been fascinating every visitor.

Artisanal manufacturing process

The delicate process of artisanal coffee takes place in several steps performed meticulously. Tindaro and Nicola carefully select only high-quality raw coffees from South America, central Africa and some areas of Asia.

Coffee is subsequently roasted individually, in order to respect the roasting times of the different qualities.

Respect for the raw material is a guarantee of the quality of unique blends, faithful to the original aroma. It is an entirely manual process that requires the utmost care. The secret recipe of Sicilian coffee by Tindaro and Nicola is the result of years of research and passion.
