Rosa dei Venti is much more than a pottery shop. The owner doesn't just sell objects and souvenirs. Everyone who comes into the shop can't dispense with the love that Tindara, the owner, has for the artistic beauty of its land. The shop is located in Gioiosa Marea, a beautiful place with breathtaking views. Tindara tells with enthusiasm the vitality of her land kissed by the sun that draws strength from its bowels.

Sicily through art

Clothing, jewelery, ceramics: everything in "La Rosa dei Venti" recalls Sicilian symbols. Sicilian carts, coffas, citrus fruits, prickly pears, the Moro heads. Each piece has its own wonderful story. You need only glance around to see an explosion of colors and grasp the volcanic and romantic essence which can be perceived among showcases and shelves. The ceramics, characterised by its elegance and delicacy, are works of manufacturing art, hand-painted by ceramists from Caltagirone and Santo Stefano di Camastra, the two cities famous for the craft shops of the “cannatari” and the ceramic and terracotta industries.

How "La Rosa dei Venti" was born

Since she was younger, Tindara dreamed about opening her own shop where people could buy unique items, witnesses of the memory of wonderful moments spent in her beloved land. The years spent working in a tourist village have allowed her to know the visitors tastes who were eager to return. This is the reason why her shop has turned into a small sea port crossed by nostalgic tourists and demanding customers. These visitors are constantly looking for an authentic emotion capable of releasing in the air the incredible scent of our land. After becoming unemployed, Tindara didn't discourage: thanks to a loan for female entrepreneurship she tried to realise her dream.

That's why it's no wonder that beauty blows from La Rosa dei Venti.
