The Villa Colonna Farm is located in a building dating back to the late 17th century, the summer residence of Duke Francesco Romano Colonna, from who the district took its name. In the XVIII century, the Villa was bought by Giuseppe Leopoldo Giaconia, Baron of Migaido, ancestor of the current owners: Adele Giaconia and Carlo Giaconia who still live in the villa trying to preserve and enhance the integrity of both the building and the environmental context. “Quality has always been the first priority over quantity” is the motto that for decades has accompanied the activity of the Villa Colonna Farm, which produces a superior category organic olive oil certified by the CCPB that controls and certifies organic and eco-sustainable products. The Olio di Colonna, obtained from the Santagatese, Verdello, Giarraffa, Biancolilla, Nocellara del Belice and Messinese cultivars, is produced in the Santagatese, Verdello and Nocellara del Belice monocultivar varieties as well as in a tasty, but balanced blend consisting of around 50 % Nocellara Messinese, 25% Nocellara del Belice, 25% minor cultivars. Its particular concentration of phenols guarantees an extra-virgin oil with particular anti-oxidant properties.
