Church of Cristo Re - Capo d'Orlando

The church dedicated to Christ the King, near Piazza Matteotti, is the main and largest cult building in the city center of Capo d'Orlando. Its construction dates back to the 50s of the twentieth century by the Redemptorist fathers. The building has three naves with a Latin cross plan. The interior, being newly built, does not house ancient works of art, but some beautiful mosaics such as that of the apse basin depicting the Risen Christ and the beautiful polychrome windows are noteworthy. Interesting is the area of the tabernacle which is held by a wooden effigy of the Virgin of modern Trentino manufacture.
