Cathedral Square of Montalbano Elicona

Piazza Duomo delightful square in the center of the medieval village. You will arrive there along the streets and alleys of the town and you will be immediately surprised by the extraordinary fidelity of these streets to the ancient medieval alleys: in fact you will notice that they have remained unchanged, as if time had stopped here many centuries ago. Piazza Duomo is one of the nerve centers of the city, one of the main meeting places also because the Cathedral overlooks it, today the Minor Basilica of Santa Maria Assunta, with its characteristic facade that dominates the square. The architectural landscape is made even more attractive by the scenic staircase that connects the square to the Basilica.
