Bells Foundry Trusso

The Ancient Foundry of the Bells Trusso is today a museum named after Professor Rosario Parasiliti, a great connoisseur and scholar of the history of Tortorici, who died prematurely. Built in the last decade of the nineteenth century, the only one of the ancient foundries left in Sicily, it was made of furnace-baked clay bricks, solidly walled with red clay. Around the oven are arranged the tools and objects necessary for the preparation and finishing of the bells. In the garden in front of the foundry, you can still admire a bell cast in 1676, while others from the previous (1498) and later periods are kept in the Sebastiano Franchina Ethno-anthropological Museum.
