San Nicola church

The Church of San Nicola, formerly used as a Matrix in the village of Castanìa, was built in the XII century. According to the reconstruction of Don Carmelo Catania, local priest and history lover, the building had a coffered ceiling with rose windows covered in pure gold and with frescoes that reproduced the life of San Nicola. Today only the bell tower and the perimeter walls remain.
