U Chianu in Vucciria

Built at the time of the Normans in the village of Castanìa, U Chianu a Vucciria was the center of political and social life in the small Nebroid municipality. Don Carmelo Catania, local priest and history lover, in reflections between memory and history, described it thus: «... it was the place where the jurors of the community made known the decisions of the country and where subsequently the feudal lords .. . exercised their power with the right of life and death over the citizens ... ».
