Church of Santa Maria degli Angeli and Convent of the Friars Minor

The construction of the Church, also called the Church of San Francesco, took place between 1506 and 1587 and is annexed to the sixteenth-century Convent of the Observant Minors. In the entrance frieze you can see the symbolism of the Knights of Malta, inside there is a beautiful Crucifix by Friar Innocenzo da Petralia (1644-26). In the side niche we find another noteworthy sculpture, the Madonna and Child, a typical example of local art with its gold details. On the main altar stands a seventeenth-century canvas representing Santa Maria degli Angeli, attributed to Antonio Catalano.
